ClubView Records: Reshaping LA's Underground Scene

by Arrow Hubbard - Monday, October 6th, 2025

In a city saturated with music, nightlife, and competition, it’s rare for a homegrown collective to carve out something as authentic and community-driven as ClubView Records. Founded by longtime friends Kaveh Majd and Michael Sack, the label has grown from a personal creative outlet into one of Los Angeles’ most promising music collectives, blending live events, funky house music, and a close-knit culture that’s hard to replicate.

But ClubView wasn’t born in a studio or record label boardroom. It started where many great partnerships do… on the way to soccer practice.

“We met through high school, we were on the same soccer team for a couple of years, but didn’t become close until senior year when we started carpooling from ACT practice. We lived two blocks apart, and we’d go to each other’s houses based on which mom was making the better dinner that night.”

What began as a friendship over rides and meals eventually became a collaboration in music. After college, both founders came back to LA with music of their own and a hunger to build something bigger. ClubView Records was the result.

A LABEL FUELED BY PASSION AND VISION

At its core, ClubView started with a simple need: a place to release music. Michael had experience in an indie band, and Kaveh had an early passion for house music, but both founders had created music they wanted to share.

“When we started, it was just our own music. Then we began releasing tracks from close friends, But now we’re getting submissions from artists we’ve never met, and they’re insanely good. That’s been really exciting.”

With a growing archive of quality demos, ClubView Records already has six to seven releases in the pipeline, signaling a shift toward a more deliberate and curated label

identity.

CLUB VIEW & ITS LOS ANGELES ROOTS

While Club View has carved a name in LA’s music scene, the founders admit that much of their early success came from their pre-existing social networks.

“LA’s nightlife is close-knit, when we started throwing events, we already had friends in different circles. They saw us launching something and showed up. That word-of-mouth growth really helped us take off.”

But even with a network, they don’t downplay the hardest part of the game: selling tickets. Word of mouth is everything and having those friends that will support no matter what is all the difference.

WURSTKÜCHE: THE SAUSAGE PARLOR

One of the most defining moves for ClubView was their partnership with the now-iconic venue Wurstküche, a German sausage parlor turned eclectic dance haven.

“We used to go there in high school for birthdays, beers, everything, one day we were there and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be sick to throw a party here?’ And now we do.”

That dream became reality thanks to a pitch deck and a community connection. They presented a full proposal to the venue’s owner, outlining how Club View could bring mutual value, a key lesson for other aspiring event organizers.

“Don’t just say what you want from a venue, tell them what you can bring to the table. That’s what gets the partnership going.”

EXPANSION PLANS: MORE CITIES MORE VENUES

With a solid foundation in LA, ClubView is now looking outward. The team has eyes on multiple venues within LA to avoid redundancy and explore different corners of the city; from the Westside to the deep pockets of Hollywood.

They’ve also begun testing new markets, including New York, Austin, and Arizona soon, hoping to slowly build out followings in other cities.

“If we can keep doing events in these cities and start gaining traction, we can eventually build teams there,”

And the biggest dream of all? A ClubView festival.

“It’s definitely a bucket list item. We don’t want to give away too much yet, but we want to do something different. Something that hasn’t been done before.”

RUNNING A 2 MAN... LABEL: THE CHALLENGES BEHIND THE SCENES

Though Club View now has a recognizable brand and buzzing events, the founders are transparent about the strain of running everything with just two people, especially while managing their own artist projects and personal tours.

“It’s been a lot of work. Organization is one of our biggest challenges. There are times I’m in a five-hour studio session and realize I forgot to post about an event.”

They’ve begun bringing in help, like a dedicated social media team and part-time collaborators, but their goal is to eventually make Club View a self-sustaining operation.

“We want it to run like a well-oiled machine, even if we’re not there, building that team is the next step.”

ADVICE TO NEW CREATORS

If they could go back and change anything, the answer was simple: start with a stronger brand identity.

“Have a visual artist from day one. Lock in your fonts, colors, logos, vibe, everything. Make your next few months of flyers and assets in one go, that consistency is how people start to recognize and trust your brand.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

ClubView’s goals are ultimately grand but as they move through the rest of the year we can expect:

  • A new and improved custom stage/production at the iconic Wurstküche

  • Finalizing a team structure that allows for growth

  • Boosting the ClubView brand and increasing their social media presence

  • Laying the groundwork for 2026, including big ideas for expansion into new markets and possibly that elusive festival

“We’ve been able to do so much already, but now we’re focused on making it sustainable, the dream is to keep growing and have it all run even when we’re on the road or in the studio.”

FINAL THOUGHTS

At the heart of ClubView Records is a sense of community and collaboration, whether that’s in the artists they work with, the crowds they bring together, or the venues they transform.

“This industry is just so social, you want to see people do awesome things. And it’s even better when you do it together.”

Tune in and keep your ears open for ClubView Records' next project…
